Veera W. Vilo (born September 22, 1990) is an award-winning Finnish actress and filmmaker recognized for her work in films such as (Pri)sons (2024), Free Skate (2022), Red Static (2021), Tuftland (2017) and Bunny the Killer Thing (2015).
Prior to her acting career, Vilo was a successful aesthetic group gymnast at Olarin Voimistelijat, team Deltat, becoming a junior world champion in 2005 and a senior world champion and World Cup winner in 2008.
Vilo holds a BA in Acting from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, graduating in 2014. Following her studies, she returned to Finland and has become an active voice in contemporary Finnish independent cinema, both in front of and behind the camera.
Vilo is a co-founder of the rising film studio Bright Fame Pictures with his spouse Roope Olenius. She has produced 5 feature films and has written one feature screenplay. Bright Fame Pictures is also currently handling the distribution rights for half a dozen feature films. Vilo’s directorial debut Red Beast (2026) is in post-production.
